Resources

Here you can find all the resources we use to build our lifestyle business empire! We will be continually adding to this page as we find more helpful sites. Bookmark, and enjoy!

Hosting

Fantastic service, especially for the price. I use them for all my sites.
The main reason I love them is for their amazing customer service. Minimal wait time issue solved fast everytime!
Great for reselling hosting also, which I still do for a few people.

Key Word Research

Longtailpro.com

simple, easy and quick to use. This little baby can save you hours in finding your next keyword to target and spits out a whole bunch of useful information

Blogging

WooThemes.com

An amazing resource with some of the most stunning wordpress themes the world has ever seen! (may seem like an exaggeration, but it’s not). They are sure to have something that suits your own style and the purpose of the site. Even if they are not quite the finished product for your needs, themes can also be customised.

My personal fav is the Canvas Theme, which has great customisation functionality.

Shopping Carts

MagentoCommerce.com

Magento

I use this open source shopping cart for any ecommerce site I build, whether it be for someone else, for myself or for my job with a mulit million dollar company, this platform has all the functionality you will ever need.

Massive community, more and more developers are familiar with it now, and the plugins and themes are growing all the time.

Internet Business Courses

InternetBusinessMastery.com

The defacto course for anyone looking to learn more about internet business. Jay and Sterling have been doing this for many years and have put together the number 1 course for learning how to start a online business.

This site is worth it for the community alone! Some great networking opportunities here, with some really smart passionate people.

Books

4 Hour Work Week by Timothy Ferris

4 Hour Work WeekIf you have not read this by now, then leave my site you are not worthy. Jokes, but seriously go read it now! The most amazingly inspiration book ever written.

Tim can take credit for coining the term “lifestyle design”, of which he has seen a massive passionate community rise up and want to become part of the ‘new rich’.

This would be the first thing I do, if I had not read it. Make this your number one priority! It is a must!

The Ultimate Sales Machine by Chet Holmes

The Ultimate Sales MachineHands down the best book I have ever read on sales. Thats it. We all know how important sales are to a business, so best to hop onto this one immediately.

Whilst written back in 2006, I had never heard of it until recently where quite a few top entrepreneurs have been recommending it.

Gives great practical advise, but at the same time quite inspiring.

Quick tips and suggestions for how to start growing your business today!

Podcasts

Escaping the 9 to 5

Escaping The 9 To 5I admint, slight crush here. Maren Kate is the coolest female entrepreneur I have ever! Not too bad on the eye either, but thats not why she made this list.

Maren is an extremely intelligent person and I love her writing style, extremely personal, brings a style and point of view I am not sure any male in the space could.

Lifestyle Business Podcast

The Lifestyle Business PodcastDan & Ian share there thoughts, tactics and success via this podcast, although not going into any details about their business (makes me so curious when they keep it a secret).

They certainly know what they are talking about and have provided me with a huge amount of inspiration to keep going.

Virtual Business Lifestyle

Virtual Business LifestyleAlso from Chris Ducker (he certainly knows how to hustle), this resource generally interviews others in the ‘lifestyle design’ space with a preference towards creating business through outsourcing.

Great guests and fantastics insights into the Philippines and outsourcing from Chris.

Smart Passive Income

Smart Passive IncomePat Flynn continues dishing out great content to encourage, teach and inspire others to build passive income streams so they too can live the dream.

Incredibly down to earth guy, and insanely open and transparent, leaves nothing on the table. Happy to even share his financial reports online! Early days for the podcast, but I am sure it will follow in the footsteps of his wildly successful blog.

Internet Business Mastery

Internet Business MasteryAs mentioned above, Jay & Sterling also have a podcast that accompanies their online course.

The podcast is full of informative information to help start and grow an online business. This podcast is one of the oldest and still one of the best to listen too! Real credit to Sterling and Jay for their ability to consistently put out awesome content! For all things internet business related, these guys are a must!

Mixergy

MixergyAmazing interviews of business people who have succeeded. Andrew Walker is an amazing interviewer, and has the ability to get people to open up, feel comfortable and share some amazing stories.

This podcast will help anyone learn from the mistakes of others as well as inspire us all to keep pressing on.

Email Management

MailChimp.com

MailChimp.comI was using Aweber at some point, but I much prefer Mail Chimp. Not too sure why many internet marketers reference Aweber a lot more often, but anyway I prefer Mail Chimp because it has many more advanced features, such as social faces and split testing, but the biggest one would have to be the ability to add people to a list without getting confirmation. I know goes against the spam act, but sometimes as a entrepreneur you have to hustle and not always play by the rules.
