In Starting With Niche Websites Part 1 we went over Finding a key word, Checking competition and, buying domain and hosting basics. If you have not read it go back here and check it out. Now you have done step 1-4 you can start working on your site and getting the content up. So lets just get into it we will jump straight into step 5
Step 5 Content
There are a few ways to go about this
- Write your own content
- Outsource it
- Use a service online
I would suggest using a service online like Iwriter to get started. Its easy to use and will save you hours of writing your own content. Just check it to make sure the content is good enough for the site. 500 words per article is the best length on the home page. For the primary article on the home page it should be of very high quality and at least 5 pages of content should be added to each site to start. Use the main keyword for the main article then use the same steps you did in “ Step 1 fiding a good keyword” to find the next 4-6 keywords for you other pages. Try and place your newly found keywords in the article title and I sprinkle it throughout the article maybe 3 or 4 times. don’t overdo it like spam google will find it and eventually it will come back to hurt you once per 100 words or good.

Step 6 Set up the site
Now you have your content you should add it to your site and pick your theme etc. Woothemes have some great themes. If your using AdSense then CTR theme will make it easy for you to put AdSense on your site. Save yourself the trouble of using Widgets or Plugins and just buy the theme it will save you so much time. Once you have selected your theme put the content up and put your Affiliate or AdSense up and boom there is your site.
Step 7 SEO
So your site is brand new don’t expect to much traffic in the first month or so. If you did your keyword research right you should not need too much SEO. Make sure you don’t overdo it here google will know if suddenly you have 1000 back links to your small crappy site that is a week old so just submit some articles to an article directory. SEnukeX is pretty good but has a pretty big learning curve you probably dont want to deal with right now. It helps if you already have a good idea of SEO if you will use SEnukeX and make sure you dont overdo it here for example spread your submissions out over 30days to make it look more natural then 200 back links in one day. Also you may not want to use SEnukeX to link directly to your page rather to a one page blog you created in wordpress etc. This will work for an authority site but not your new niche site. Remember keep it simple and don’t overdo it.
Step 8 Tracking
Make sure you track all your data. One advantage of doing this kind of project is you can track everything. Use your Google Analytics Account to track traffic etc. This is easy to use and put on your site if you are using a Wootheme or CTR theme just copy and paste the code. Use some software or spreadsheet to track all the login info, domains you have, revenue, articles and so on so you always know what is going on.
So there you have it!! you now know all the basics you need to get started. Of course you should go more into depth and find out as much as you can which is why I gave you some great resources at the start of the Niche Sites Basics Part 1. We will also be going into more detail and showing you exactly what you need to be doing so stay tuned for more. Remember little differences can have a big impact over a long period of time. Try making your sites by yourself at first then once you get the process you can use a VA to help you do some of the repetitive simple to do tasks. As you have your head around the basic concepts then you can be on your way to creating some passive income online to help you create a sweet ass lifestyle!
